One of the founders of Proper Music Distribution, Graham Jones should be in the Guinness World Records for visiting more record shops than any other person. Following hundreds of record shop closures, and worried that record shops would go the way of stamp shops, coin shops and candlestick makers, he toured the UK to interview the owners and staff of 50 record shops and document their tales for his book Last Shop Standing: Whatever Happened to Record Shops?

The Vinyl Revival explores the renaissance in all things vinyl. We hear from passionate new record shops owners as well the established die-hards still going and thriving. We speak with musicians and music industry pundits, experts on culture and music history. The film discusses the importance of the record shop and vinyl as a whole. We answer the whys of vinyl’s revival, the human need for belonging, the love of history, and the stories of how the humble little record shop has shaped so many lives.

We are very honoured to have Graham join us to talk about and screen his new film, Vinyl Revival; a documentary about record shop culture.

There will also be a music quiz with prizes, tales from the industry and maybe some records played too! Hosted by Tom and Sean from Sound Records in Stroud.

£5 advance tickets from SVA and Sound Records (31, High St, Stroud)

From the makers of acclaimed Last Shop Standing and inspired by Graham Jones new book this is a film that explores why the tables are turning again and the background behind vinyls renaissance.
