ARTIST INFO

Mermaid Chunky — the name says it all. This imaginative duo, consisting of Freya Tate and Moina Moin, brings a vibrant, danceable energy to the stage that is as inventive as it is eclectic. Originating from Stroud, now living in London, they found their creative roots in communities like Stroud’s SVA and the capitals London’s Total Refreshment Centre. Their music is a lively celebration of diverse sounds and genres, ranging from the warm, uplifting dance of Céilí to the boardwalk electro vibes of Chaperone. Tracks like Frogsporn and Nature Girl take listeners on trippy, synth-laden journeys, while Tiny Gymnast offers a kaleidoscopic waltz. Mermaid Chunky’s performances are a multi-sensory experience, incorporating everything from recorders to saxophones. Their creative spirit has caught the attention of DFA Records, leading to high-profile gigs and collaborations. As regular SVA party throwers, Mermaid Chunky will be back with us celebrating Bealtaine! For this special event, ‘Marsh Marigold’, Mermaid Chunky will be bringing us an ‘In The Round’ audio visual Performance, surrounded by their frolicking chunklet collaborators.

THE WICKER MANTOMIME - half-PINT! Theatre

A CRASS CAMP CULTISH PUNK PAGAN POP PARODY

May Day a cometh, and so too doth panto season, but never the twain shall meet...UNTIL NOW!

On a remote island off the coast of Scotland, nothing is quite as it seems. A straightlaced police officer from the mainland has been called to investigate the disappearance of a young girl, but finds himself stuck with a community of free loving heretics.

Prepare yourselves to be transported back in time to the giddy heights of the 1970s folk revival, but not as you know it. Mystery, ritual, lust, mild nudity, corn rigs, barley, and some good old traditional family fun , The Wicker Mantomime is the perfect night out.

Fans of the original or newcomers to the wickerverse…all are welcomed to keep their appointment with...THE WICKER MANTOMIME

half-PINT! Theatre is a group of avant-garde performance artists and one amateur anthropologist, with a dream to transform a cult classic into a fable for the modern age. With no discernible dramatic training or play writing skills, half-PINT! will immerse you into this entirely unfaithful adaptation.

The Butter Bar - Ruth Faulkner & Kid Buckley bring you The Butter Bar, an interactive buttery experience . In Ruth’s words ‘People arrive at the secret butter bar and we use a flower to determine whether they like butter or not, then they enter the little tent where we serve them buttered bread and a yellow drink served in the kings cup, they would have some kind of yellow hat over their head whilst they eat and headphones to listen to some fertile May day music, then receive a yellow face paint spot to prove their butteryness.’
